Mitochondria-localized c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase (JNK) facilitates the survival of serum-deprived neural tumor cells. Immunocytochemistry was performed in paraformaldehyde-fixed Triton-X 100-permeabilized RN22 schwannoma cells grown in the absence of serum using anti-phospho-JNK mouse monoclonal antibody (red) together with the mitochondria-specific marker streptavidin (green) and the nucleus-specific marker bisbenzimide (blue). Active JNK was detected in the mitochondria (yellow). For details, see the article by Lpez-Snchez et al. on page 47.
