Microdissected endothelial cells from a cutaneous neurofibroma of a Neurofibromatosis type 1 patient. Endothelial cells were identified by histology and dissected by laser capture microdissection for subsequent analysis of the mitochondrial genome. The mitochondrial genome of endothelial cells was different from the genome of S100- positive cells of the same neurofibroma. For details, see article by Kurtz et al. on p. 433.
